Aleksandar Maletic was born in 1963 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and studied violin at the Belgrade Academy of Music with Prof. Dojcinovic from 1982 and at the same time with Prof. Baynov at the State Academy of Music in Trossingen from 1986. In 1988 he received the award for the best final examination at the Belgrade Academy of Music.

He was a member of various ensembles, including concertmaster of the "Sinfonietta Tedesca Karlsruhe" and the "Tibor Varga Chamber Orchestra" in Sion, and played concert tours in Yugoslavia, France, Germany and Switzerland. Temporary work has taken him to the SWR Radio Symphony Orchestra in Stuttgart and Freiburg, among numerous other orchestras.

After obtaining a permanent position with the Bodensee-Sinfonieorchester Konstanz in 1989, he has been a member of the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn since 1991.
