Stefan Maneth was born in Frankfurt in 1965. He studied in Cologne, Aachen and Munich with Prof. B. Volmer and Prof. Harilof Schlichtig. After his diploma examination in 1990, he began postgraduate studies with Prof. Kim Kashkashian at the Musikhochschule Freiburg. He also received chamber music lessons with the "Amadeus Quartet" and the "Brandis Quartet" and took part in master classes with Vladimir Mendelssohn and Barbara Westphal. In 1989 he became principal violist of the "Camerata Musical do Porto", Portugal, and one year later principal violist of the "Basel Sinfonietta". In 1992 he became a member of the Philharmonic State Orchestra Halle/Saale. Stefan Maneth has been a member of the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn since 1992.
